Welcome to Double Dog Photography! I'm James Kittendorf and I'm a professional dog photographer. I have a passion for capturing the beauty, personality, and spirit of dogs through my photography. I am based in Chicago and have been a photographer for over a decade.

Growing up in Northern Michigan, I developed a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and the bond between humans and animals. My love for dogs started when I was a little kid and has only grown stronger over the years. I am lucky to share my life with my loyal companion, Chauncey, a pit bull who inspires me daily with his goofy, playful and loving nature.

My photography style is based primarily on on-location shoots, where I work to capture the unique personalities of each dog in a natural environment. My focus is solely on the animal, with no human element to the portraits. I strive to capture the essence of each dog's character, expressions, and movements that make them unique.

As a dog owner and lover, I understand the bond that exists between dogs and their owners. I am commissioned to capture portraits that depict the true spirit and personality of the dog, that our clients can display as fine art and treasure for a lifetime.
